I awake this morning to horror in London. I pray that everyone is okay; thought of you guys immediately. I believe the date of the London CP has been changed, but my immediate thought was that this was the week it originally had been planned.

It'd be nice if those who are in London/Britain would touch base at LNG to let everyone know that they are okay. Amanda? Are you in London now? If so, are you and your friends okay?

How the frig do we fix this world?

I have gotten reassuring emails from Karen (Heather's Neice) and our own Amanda (with Jen and SJ) in London who have all assured me that they are fine, and in no danger at this time.

I pray that nobody else from LNG has friend or family that are hurt or worse in London. My thoughts are with the families of those who have been harmed by this apalling and cowardly act.

And I've gotten reassurances from Booj and Alice that they're all ok as well. Well, also Amanda, but that's because I was on-line at the time. :)

Yep, all's good an well here. And life is actually pretty much normal! I even went on the tube yesterday to see London Tower and it was fine, just a little more leg room than usual.

Things could have been a lot worse than they actually were. My heart and thoughts go to all the people who lost someone or were injured, but I'm thankful it wasn't as many as it could have been. And it really could have been phenominally worse.

After some reflection on the events it almost seems as though it was only planned as a disruption to daily life (that or really bad organisation). The worst thing we can think of was that it's actually even some governemnt conspiracy, but you'd hope not.

Actually living here in the middle of it, I can honestly admit that everything isn't as bad as it appears on TV. The media just seems to be having a field day and making it out to be a thousand times more horrific here than it actually is. Everyone I see is just living out their lives as normal, laughing, smiling, working. You wouldn't even believe it actually happened if it weren't for the media news stands and what not.

Reading over this I feel I might appear a bit heartless... but I hope not, I just wanted to let you know.

I really DO feel for the innocent people effected by the bombings and it pisses me off that people think they can just DO these sorts of things and get away with it. It really does. No one deserves to have their lives treated and abused in this way as though they're nothing but pawns to be used and sacrificed for advantage on a chess board.

What was it I heard CNN saying the other day? Ah yes, "the worst thing to happen to London since the Blitz."

I suppose they're conveniently forgetting all those IRA bombings for a good slogan, right? *Shrugs* Bah, the media.

Why was I watching CNN? I dunno. For a laugh. BBC World was running a crappy documentary on something.

On the other hand, I guess you could say the media is forced to make this bigger than it actually is because the British character is too reserved for the general population to do it themselves hehe.

Found on another board, attributing it to an RP board -

Brit 1:"Oh look, another bus blew up."

Brit 2:"Right. Oh well. Such fickle things, busses."

Brit 1:"Yes, quite so. On with the day."

Terrorist: ....
