Go here. http://www.bookblog.net/gender/genie.html This is your gender genie, it shows whether you write like a guy or a girl. It would be a good idea to use it to see whether, if you are writting for a female character, it reads feminine, or visa versa.

Have to admit, playing with this was rather fun - turns out that the stuff I've been writting recently reads more feminine than my initial stuff, accoridng to this thing. Particularly when I'm working with a female viewpoint character. ;)

I gave it my very first Tash post, a couple of pieces from the middle of the game (Season 3 - not easy to find solo pieces there, but I managed), and the the second half of the big showdown with vamp Tash that I wrote.

The results were:

First post - female, but by a narrow margin
MS3 post 1 - female by a slightly larger margin
MS3 post 2 - male by about the same margin as MS3 post 1 was female
Final Tash post - male by a narrow margin

So it seems I'm pretty borderline on the whole male/female writing style issue. :)

Interesting. I just gave it a couple of Ela posts - the first game post for her, and the one where she's involved in the riots (to have a combat-based one).

Both of those came up as very strongly female. I'm hoping that means that when I'm writing different characters I actually manage to get across their different personalities, since Ela is definitely a more feminine character than Tash. :)

Heh, I got similar results as Heather too. I put in posts from LABN and SW and got a very feminine rating for both Kate and Arica. Whereas when I entered a Sydney post from SW it came back as decidedly male. :P

Well, I rated as female in every post i entered, even the ones where i was writing Ellis - althought the margin is lessened in those.

My first Benji post evah scored Male (couldn't fool the Gender Genie!) by a margin of Male 1123/Female 964.

Even my Lorne encounter was scored as Male! Even with all its Lorne-ness...(wonder of wonders!)

I just had to try it - I subjected the genie to one of my Delancre posts from Season Four. It came up with my strongest male ratio yet. :)

So it's good at picking the gender of my characters, but not of me, the author. :D
