Awwww thanks all you guys! :D Although my birthday is on the 28th and even if I'm up past midnight I still have to sleep until I can legitimately claim my cards and pressies and cake. :( No fair! "I want it alllll I want it right now!" :wink:

Happy Birthday! In celebration I will regale you with a tale of Heather's Birthday (since she is gonna be an old woman of 39 on Sunday) -

Saturday AM we awoke early (6:30 the alarm begins to sing and generally doesn't shut up until around 6:45am). We showered and prepared for the day's activities. A standard breakfast of Honey Nut Cheerios and skim milk with sliced banana in our last two clean ceral bowls was soon consumed and the bowls added to the pile in the sink. No time for dish-washing as she bundled up with sweater/jumper and skarf and warm jeans to be driven to nearby Baltimore.

Once there we drove through Harborplace where I booted her from the car for a few hours while I attended a seminar elsewhere in Baltimore. So her first gift was a few hours alone. She spent them (and a few dollars) in the Barnes and Noble bookstore there at the Inner Harbor.

I returned and met up with her at 1pm and we had lunch. Present #2: a Lovely lunch in an Irish Pub (complete with Guinness) overlooking the harbor. She had a frittata with spinich and bleu cheese and I had an egg and bacon sandwich and potato hash. yum.

From there we went to Present #3: The national aquarium in Baltimore has opened an Australia Habitat exhibit and so we sent there and saw all sort of native Aussie wildlife. We also watched the dolphins playing and saw the new frog exhibit.

From there we went back to the car ($20 in parking) and drove to Fells Point (also in Baltimore - $7 more in parking) for Present #4: A lovely dinner. Heather had an appetizer of Brie and duck on flatbread and I had a scruptious pumpkin ravioli. For mains we had Filet with Asparagus on garlic potatoes with portobello Mushrooms (me) and Deep Sea scallops grilled with endive and croutons (Heather). For Dessert I had chocolate volcano cake and she had five (different) chocolate truffles on a caramel wafer.

We strolled the historic streets of Fells Point before driving home (via the airport because we missed our turn). In all a wonderful evening that I share with you becasue you are such a fabulous person you deserve to share in it...even if it is only vicariously.

Many happy returns to you as well, Heather. It's a week birthdays, apparently. Audra (remember Audra from dinner at the Cheesecake Factory) had her birthday on Monday, the 23rd. We are going to Hofbrauhaus tonight to celebrate. Anyway, Happy Day to you all!!!
