Okay, this may be a little technical, but I'll try to keep it simple.
Your browser can stor little bits of information on your hard drive about the sites it visits. It uses this information to remember things like login names and what the last page you visited and such. These bits of information are called cookies.
Cookes are not in and of themselves harmful. They cannot hurt your computer, and they can't really make anything happen. However, certain advertising companies DO sometimes use them to track your movements on the internet. LABN doesn't.
In order to stay logged on to LABN for more than about 10 minutes, you need to have a non-corrupted "clean" fresh and brand spankin' new cookie that says "remember me".
For PCs (I don't think anyone here uses a Mac) do the following...
In Internet Explorer 6.0, use the "Tools" menu choose Internet Options. Press the button that says "Delete Cookies". Close all your browser windows, then open one new one (in that order). Log into La By Night, and check the box...It should log you every time.
If you use Internet Explorer 5.X it may not clear ALL the offline content when you tell it to clear all offline content. It wants to hang onto those cookies.
There is a folder called "Temporary Internet Items" in your system folder that has all the IE5.x cookies and if you scroll through the list (and there could be thousands of cookies) and find the latenightgames ones you will be able to delete them.
There are a couple of things you can do to make sure it continues to work properly...
1) Use http://latenightgames.com/labynight/forum as the link to the forum. If you have old links to labynight.friedbaloney.com they may not work any more.
3) If you visited Zion 3 at any time you should go back there and let it set a new cookie for you. That should fix any lingering cookie problems.
