I'm doing this in a new thread, so it's easier to find. Having gone through all the responses to the proposed schedule for the finale, the times are set as follows:
Sunday 9th October we meet at 2pm GMT.
6am Sunday for Kris
9am Sunday for me, Shaun and possibly Adam (and Dave and John if they wish to sit in, but at this stage it would seem they are not involved)
11am Sunday for Ally - although it's her mother's birthday so she'll be leaving us early
2pm Sunday for Lou, Robin, Alice, Jamie and Matt - though Robin won't be showing until after work, at 4pm
10pm Sunday for April - leaving early due to work the next day
1am Monday for Amanda - purportedly leaving early due to school next day, but we all know what you're like once you get going :)
If possible, try to get online about fifteen minutes before the official kickoff, so we can get settled in the chatroom, etc.
As for what will happen, I have a rough idea of the broad outline, but finales have a way (as with most collabs) of taking on a life of their own. However, for what it's worth...
The majority of 'the gang' will meet at Bibliophile and go from there to the Hyperion. Certain characters - Jade, Ripper/James (?), Dray'chen/Chance (?) and Darian/Evexus (?) - may already be at the hotel.
Robin's lateness can be covered by remarking that Sorrow is in final preparations for the ritual... And since he has to maintain his concentration on the trip over, he's quiet in the car. :)
Then the gang arrive at Hyperion, those of us not involved in the spell per se - ie, Tash, Reah, Jess, Trig (if he's there), and any of those already in the Hyperion who are with the 'good guys' - will start to fight minions, Ellie, the 'bad guy' players, and attempt to bring the Elders out in the open where the spellcasters can get at them. Kate, Daye and Ally may be able to provide some magical backup during the physical part of the fight, while Sorrow revs up the final stage.
Remember, during the fight, that all the vampires in this building have had six Slayer boosts, even the youngest of them will fight like two hundred-year old, the hundred-year olds will fight like three hundred-year olds, etc. And the Elders... well, they're just gross now. Some of their new abilities have already been hinted at in the game.
Once the Elders are in line of sight of Sorrow, then it's time for Morris' diary spell, at which point it all gets rather nebulous. But that's a basic idea of the gameplan, for those of you who want to work out roughly what their character will be doing.
Those of you who've done finales before, you know how they work. Those of you who haven't... they can be fast and furious at times, and at other times they can get a bit bogged down. With so many players all vying for the storyline at once, keep segments reasonably brief and remember, if you don't <<< you don't get to say anything. Jump in quick, but be prepared to hand over the reins if someone gets on ooc with a strong argument for why they need to go next, especially if they haven't had a turn for a while.
At a certain point in the fight scenes we tend to go 'free flowing'. We'll talk about it in the ooc, then start off. Nobody bothers with <<< and >>> any more, you just write a line or two for what your pc is doing, and if you like you can quickly scan the others and get some interaction that way. It tends to simulate a real fight, in which your world shrinks to those you're directly battling and you're only peripherally aware of other combatants.
Mostly, have lots of caffeine on hand, keep your eye on the ooc and the action, don't be afraid to jump in to do your bit of writing, and have fun. :)

Well, it's done. It's all over bar the editing and finishing touches. And it was big, it was scary, it was sad, it was fun (well, ok, maybe only in a masochistic kind of way), and now it's over.
Big thanks to all of those who participated in the finale, and for those who couldn't make it, maybe we can rope you in for the Season 4 finale? :) I have to say, I think Season 3 has been our strongest yet, and together we've written a finale that lives up to it.

Once Heather's got that big mutha of a collab all edited and formatted the standard rule is that she passes it around to everyone who was involved and they check everything is ok and add anything else they want to (In a different colour text i might add so that it stands out from the template file) Once that's all done THEN it get's posted. Phew!!

ps. this sounds ver' long...i fear my head might explode and it'd take me three years to read through from how you're all making it sound :wink: but i can't wait.
in other news: i was nearly on time for work today :D only 30min after 8...which...technically is 30min early...but its 30min...late...too.... I like to get there at 8. but it took me 13 bloody minutes to drive down queens rd on the city bypass (only heather and possibly april could really understand how bad that is...maybe dave...i doubt it... but anywhos, it ain't a ver' long road :P ) i cut out 500 sheets of paper that had two pages on them that needed to be seperated (in other words, 1000), AND lost a part of my finger using the scalple blade :D
excitement, she wrote.... This is what i ultimately missed out on the finale for...: to end up missing my finger, too.
