As mentioned in the post with Tash and Kate, Emma's funeral is being arranged for Wednesday, 7 March 2007
I'd like to do a collab with as many people who wish to be in attendance as possible (maybe sometime this weekend if possible as it's the last one I'll be available both Sat AND Sun).
As with the White Hat meeting and the previous memorial service I'll post the results up here and we can do a sort of 'round robin' affair until everyone is happy. I don't envision it being that long, I'll kick off with the ol' intro, and there'll be a fairly wiccan theme with the service. I'd mostly like people's reactions etc and if it feels right and there are enough peeps involved (i.e. not gone all Eeeevil hehe) then we could always do something at the 'wake-type' affair that will be held at Kate and Galen's home afterwards. (like I don't know, condolences, thoughts about Chance or maybe Alessa's rescue if we know that much by then.) It might also be an opportunity for a few people to get infected... ;)

Tash will certainly be at the funeral, and the subsequent wake - and presumably in a non-evil state. :)
However, this weekend is the big move, so I won't be online at all, and God knows if we'll have internet connected yet at the new place. I might be off the air for a few days. :( But I will make responses in here if and when possible.
And if people don't get infected at the wake, there's always the WH meeting on Thursday 8th March - for those who are well enough to attend, anyway. Or the one on the 15th, or the one on the 22nd... :wink:

Tarix, i don't think theres any chance for her to be at the funeral because a) she is currently captured by the Macabres, b) she hasn't met most of the white hats including Kate (did i mention i need to collab?)...anyways...you guys have a nice colab, can't wait to catch it on the board

Hunter will surely not attend because A) He hasn´t met any of the White Hats (yet) and B) he´s an evil, sadistic vampire.
The only reasons I can think of for him to come would be if the funeral happend during the night and he would be stupid and desperate enough to think that he would be able to create Bloodfest 2007. Anyway have a nice collab.

Even though they haven't really talked to kate and galen much on camera, the meetings have possibly narrowed the distance between them, and Reah and Quin would probs go out of support and what not (though i don't know if they ever actually met emma) but support is the key thing here!
now, the REAL question here is...: can i make it?

I think at the moment that I'm gonna try writing the opening and then let people write a response based around that - sort of how we did the White Hat meeting, though I'll probably be around the next three days to do collabs or mini collabs if anyone wants. :)
And yeah, I'm guessing support for the parents will be a main priority since Emma was like 9 months old and not really in a position to make acquaintances of her own hehe

Okay this is the first part of the post, I'm gonna add some later, more of the service what the high priest says, that kind of thing. For now though this is just to give everyone a sense of the place, atmosphere etc. and get the ball rolling. Don't be afraid to start writing things, or if you'd like to do a 'mini collab' (perhaps for afterwards) let me know.

Sunnyview Cemetery
The afternoon sun was low in the sky as the mourners gathered in the small cemetery. Several large oak trees surrounded them, the lazy wind rustling their leaves every so often, making their branches dip and bow in time to its lulling rhythms. Between the trees, beyond the tombstones and across the rolling green hills lay the city of Los Angeles – noisy and abrasive, a thick layer of smog skimming the horizon just above the line of skyscrapers.
The grave of Emma Eldridge was far smaller than anyone had expected. The headstone seemed to reflect that, being small and unobtrusive. It seemed almost lost among the other plots, some which towered like miniature monuments to the dead, rising out of the earth, dark and foreboding, like some holy monolith. In contrast, Emma’s headstone shone dully in the pale light, like a sleeping child beneath the trees, a tablet of cold white marble. Upon the smooth, flawless surface, light grey letters curled modestly, inscribed a loving message to the dead.

Kate stood by the graveside and tried not to look down into that dark, endless void. A voice in her head said it was a mistake, the best way to lay the dead to rest was to allow their body to be consumed back into the earth in the fastest way possible. By fire. But Kate hadn’t the strength to see her daughter burn. Only now, beside the tiny coffin, adorned with pink roses and the other floral tributes that people had brought, she felt a failure and a traitor to her beliefs.
She faltered, her legs feeling weak as though they might give way any moment. She hadn’t eaten that day, food only stayed dry in her mouth like sawdust and she couldn’t stomach anything anyway. But that didn’t help the way she felt, fragile, insubstantial, child like… lost… She breathed a sigh of relief when she felt a strong hand reach out and take hers firmly.
Jack smiled supportively at his daughter, giving her hand another gentle squeeze, the soft leather of his glove holding on to her cold, bare fingers tightly. He wouldn’t let her fall.
Galen glanced down at Jack’s hand, holding on to his wife so diligently while his own hands tightened into a fist behind his back. He thought back to the ‘talk’ they’d had, when Jack had all but threatened him… Galen’s eyes narrowed, becoming colder and more impassive as they waited for everyone to arrive and the service to begin.
The high priest was an old friend of Kate’s whom she’d met at the Solstice last year. Timothy Wyvern, a gentle looking old man in his late fifties. His dark brown eyes had a downcast turn to them, as did the majority of his facial features, softened by a crop of billowy grey hair that surrounded his face. Timothy’s eyes observed the gathering crowds, talking in hushed voices, most not talking at all, some laying flowers by the grave, while others passed by the grieving couple, laying a comforting hand on their shoulders before taking a seat.
When all were assembled he began.

Okay since it's getting quite close (we're already on the 4th/5th for most people i think) I'm gonna try to write the rest of the 'ritual' sometime this evening and tomorrow probably heh - on the premise that the following people are in attendance -

If I've left anyone out let me know, and also for the above people in case any writing is going on around this there will also be a few witches from Sindell at the funeral plus a smattering of demons and um, possibly Bob the Snitch :) hehe
Instead of posting it up here I'll either pm the above people and/or I'll move this thread over to the White Hat forum.

Okay this is the ritual for the funeral, Adam has already wrote a few comments for Nikolai (the one's in the greeny colour) if anyone else wants to add anything from their character's pov then please post it up here and I'll add it.

The next part will be the actual wake which will be at Kate's house, I'll put up an opener soon, but then it will be down to individuals to write mini collabs or whatever to fill up the space there. I already have a short one written between Kate, Darian and Cole, but this should be an ideal opportunity for people to discuss what has been happening lately in their lives, so please use it or I WILL have to start kicking arses! :twisted:
