Setting is just as much a character in this story (as in any story) as are the characters themselves. This game isn't called Buffy; it's LA By Night, just to further my point.

Setting and character exist simultaneously, feeding each other. You cannot have one without the other. One is the chicken, and one is the egg. Which came first?

Not every location will be a major hotspot. Not every meeting will take place at Bob's Bar, and not every evil is to be found under 1318 Poplar Avenue. It is this belief that has lead me to look up some LA pages. I liked the resources section of LABN, but it needs more. So why put it all on Dave's head? I can help to! :)

I have found myself inspired while glancing through websites dedicated to LA. Perhaps you might find story ideas if you do the same. Great metaphors can be found quite by accident, so be careful! You just might be glad you did a modicum of research.

Although LABN is set in the future, 3 years shouldn't change things much. We aren't writing travel guides; we're writing fiction.

I hope this will be a help to new and old players alike. If anyone finds an interesting LA site, please add it to this post. I would like to see the resources section grow.

Not all resource pages should have to do with LA, 'course. Anything horror-drama-gaming related should do. How about:

Sid, I love you man! You are a font of cool ideas.

I posted a link to "LA Info" in the Game Resources page and put all of these links there. I will probably put a Gaming Info link as well (but not tonight ...Yawn!)

Thanks!

Cool. Never been called a font before. Groooovy.

I'm checking out the work you did on the resources page. And you did some work. Dig the quotations. And the fonts! You took a small idea and went with it!
