History: 2nd Born in the Royal Family Osiri, Zara lived a life of wealth and privilege. Schooled by the finest tutors, she excelled not only in the realms of academics, but also in all areas a Lady should. Musician, singer, actress were all labels appropriate for Zara, but above all these, the young noble was a prized dancer. A champion in the art of Vorgrell
fan dancing, Zara was often considered to be the best in the world, an aspect she felt was often overlooked by family and friends. No matter how much she excelled, she was always overshadowed by her older brother, Zayen. He was smart, athletic, kind, handsome, responsible; everything a future head of house should be, and it made Zara sick to her stomach. Despite his loving and protective attitude towards her, Zara couldn’t stand him, and was perfectly happy when Zayen left to fulfill his 7 years in the Military (where he grew to be known as somewhat of a hero along with his best friend Corin Archell, a fact that made Zara wretch every time she thought of it).
Although most would be content with her position of royalty, Zara craved more. She mused about being Queen of Vorgrell, but as she grew, her dreams extended to the entire outer rim, and eventually the galaxy.
However, Zara was of course a woman, and also the youngest in her family, two facts that would not aid in her quest for power. When her parents would eventually pass away, Zayen would inherit control of the House of Osiri, and she would be in the shadows, just another pretty face in the royal court.
This would not do.
She began by hoping that Zayen would be killed on some military mission, but as the 7 years of his service began drawing to an end, she came to the realization that more pro-active measures were needed. In secret she commissioned an assassin driod from (insert crime boss) to kill her brother while he partied at a local club, but the plot was thwarted by Corin and some of Zayen’s other friends who managed to stop the droid before he caused any real damage.
Furious at her failed scheme, Zara began to grow impatient. Even if she did manage to kill Zayen, it would be years before she actually came to power.
And this would not do.
Zara extended her ambition, and began searching for a way to rid herself of not only Zayen, but her parents as well. Knowing that she couldn’t rely on mere assassins since the royal family was extremely well guarded, she began formulating political plans, but once again, her path seemed to be blocked. None of the other families would support any form of coup, and being a women, she had no support in the military to take anything by force. Also, even if she did manage to somehow become head of the Osiri house, she would be sharing her power with 6 other houses.
This would definitely not do.
Finally, luck came in the form of shifting galactic politics. With the Republic all but disappeared, Zara found her chance in the rising Galactic empire. Through the aid of a combination of criminal contacts, disloyal members of the other families’ courts, and the local empirical governor, she manage to set up all the ruling houses. Then with one well placed message to the Empire, Zara managed to single handedly bring down the existing political system. In one fell swoop, the Empire arrested all the royal families and charged them with treason against the empire. Her plan were coming to fruition. With all the families out of the way, the empire was supposed to conveniently find Zara innocent and consolidate the Houses’ former power into her, making her Grand Ruler of Vorgrell
and their local puppet in the sector. Unfortunately, things didn’t go according to plan. The planted evidence against three of the other houses were not enough to convict them, leaving only the members of the Osiri (except Zara of course), Archell, and Jay’Vex to be imprisoned.
When the clouds and dust settled from the coup, Zara was indeed left head of the Osiri house, but was unfortunately only ¼ of the ruling body, as three of the other houses remained.
Soon after, she moved quickly, eliminating those who knew of her participation in the political change leaving only Corin Archell (and the empire) who know the truth behind Zara’s rise to power.
Now, Zara continues to work, secretly pushing the Empire’s agenda all the while furthering her own personal plans to extend her influence on the planet and beyond.

Proposal: Zara Orsiri [ACCEPTED]
Well, Shaun, you already know I like this a lot, but I still have the issue of the Empire appointing a 'council' in the aftermath of the coup. Doesn't seem very Empire to me. Even during their rise, I find it easier to see the Empire appointing a sole 'ruler' of the planet (or rather a lone puppet). Council's are too much of an excuse for democracy and division and whatnot...and we all know how the Empire feels about that :P
BUT... if we do stick with this Council idea, it would stand to reason the Empire would fill it with their cronies, so there's at least a majority of Imperial supporters in there.
Just a minor point really...the rest of its fine as far as I can see :)
Proposal: Zara Orsiri [ACCEPTED]
For my small voice, Shaun, I like her. I've only read your and Adam's characters so far. As a reader, I vote YES for Princess Osiri.

(And you've got a real Smallville thing going on this site. Heh. Hard to blame you. This actress is beautiful.)
