On the nature of Werewolves wrote:

The majority of know myth and legend regarding werewolves holds some truth to it, and so most of what you have heard is correct. Most can only transform at the full moon however some of the older and more powerful werewolves can change shape at will regardless of the moon, they are killed by silver, and they do become large canine like beasts. However they are not always mindless evil beasts, it is possible for the human inside the beast through force of will and training to exert a level of control over the beast, possibly even preventing its emergence when not desired.

Some werewolves especially those of the more social breeds and also those that have mastered the beast within travel in packs, pack size varies from just a few individuals to more than 25-30 for some of the oldest and most well established packs. All packs are lead by an alpha wolf, which is always the most powerful wolf in the pack, the alphas power is affected directly by the number of wolves in the pack and their loyalty to him. The more pack members he leads the more powerful he will become.

At a certain point an Alpha will leave his pack and attempt to become closer to his inner beast this is refered to as Hibernation. Werewolf hibernation is not like that of other animals they do not simply sleep for the winter. Hibernation has many forms, which differ from werewolf to werewolf and pack to pack. Some werewolves closely linked to the Native American peoples go on spirit quests in just the same manner as the Natives. Or more beasital werewolves might actully enter a cave and sleep like a bear, some werewolves can even meld their body and sprit with a natural object such as a rock, tree or even a portion of a stream or river.

In the state of Hibernation the werewolf seeks to increase both his physical power and understanding of this world by seeking even more control over his inner beast. Hibernation only affects alpha wolves and only happens once in their life time, however lesser werewolves may gain in strength and spirit in much the same way, but never to the same degree. Hibernation usally lasts at least a year and can extend longer depending on the werewolf. When a werewolf emerges from Hibernation he will be rejuvenated both in spirit and body and will then go out and form a new pack.

Sliver is the weapon of choice when facing a werewolf because it does not allow them to heal. Werewolves possess incredible regenerative abilities and can recover from almost any wound unless it is caused by silver. Interestingly, some lycanthropes can survive a wound caused by silver, or heal a lesser wound caused by this metal, by shifting to its other form quickly. For lycanthropes that can only change with the full moon, they probably won't survive a silver-inflicted injury. Decapitation and Immolation are also likely to kill a werewolf as even the hardiest of their kind are not able to heal these types of lethal wounds.

A werewolf’s connection to the moon is much different than of any other creature, it seems as though werewolves tap the moons energy to provide them with their abilities though how or why they exhibit this connection is unknown. As such only 3 days a month when the moon is full will a werewolf transform, and so for the majority of every month they exist as a normal human. They may crave rawer meats, be more prone to anger and may even exhibit more pronounced body hair, but by and large they can live an average human existence. However the way a werewolf lives is largely dependant on the person who is infected. If the person wishes, it is possible to find ways to learn to control the inner beast, once in control it is still possible that the person could use there abilities for malicious activities, it is also equally possible for them to live a benevolent existence avoiding the savage tendencies of their beast.

The origins of the werewolf infection are unknown, some breeds and werewolf scholars have varying theory’s regarding this but so far no one has any definitive proof regarding the origins of werewolves. We do however know that the werewolf infection is passed through the saliva and claws of a werewolf when transformed; when in human form they cannot pass the infection. The infection is much like any other, except that it will within seconds of infection have infected every cell of the recipient and there is no known cure of any kind. The infection also seems to hold some connection to the moon as its strength within the host waxes and wanes with the moon that is why most werewolves only change upon the full moon.

There are several different breeds of werewolf, which are distinguished by prominent physical characteristics such as larger limbs, more pronounced claws and teeth and so forth. These various breeds may differ physically from one another but the same underlying characteristics exist in all breeds. There are some breeds that also share similar ideological tendencies, also certain breeds are more savage than others and are less likely to seek to gain control of their beasts, however the underlying human is in the end makes the choice on which path to take.

The average werewolf will live only the lifespan of a regular human although being infected by some breeds may lengthen it slightly, this is presumable due to the hardier constitution those infected by werewolves seem to develop. They are less prone to disease and slightly more resilient even when in human form to all forms of injury however this is only to a small degree.

When in wolf form a werewolf gains an amazing deal of physical strength, stamina and speed, however they are on average far less intelligent and calculating than the human they are on a daily basis. As noted above should a person infected by a werewolf gain the insight and have the force of will needed to affect control over the beast, they would when transformed exhibit nearly the same mental capacity of the human infected. And as such the human would posses a great deal of control, however powerful emotions like fear, anger, and pain may override this control even in the strongest werewolves.

The werewolf is a powerful adversary for despite on average possessing only a raw animal instinct they are incredibly powerful physical opponents and very few creatures exist that can withstand the furious assault of an enraged werewolf.

Of Noble Blood, the Urn'etu wrote:

Thousands upon thousands of years ago, when humans we're as savage as the beasts they now hunt. This world was assaulted by outside forces, daemonic forces. These daemons, hundreds of thousands of them set foot upon the soft warm soil of this world with one goal. To eradicate all mortal life and take this place as their own.

The primal forces of this world, the powers that be, needed some way to defend this world. And so they gave a few worthy individuals the power to change, to become one with the primal animal forces of this world. It was their duty to defend this soil unto the last, with their very being, they were all that could stand against the daemonic otherworldly forces now wishing to enthrall this world and bend it to their sickening whims.

Those able to change shape were very small in number, but they were strong for they we're the chosen of this world, and so they did battle with the burgeoning daemonic forces. However this was not a war to be won in a day or even a year it seemed it was a war that would never end. But those that could change shape understood this and so they took from the human population to rekindle their numbers.

And the humans became afraid, not only of the daemonic but also of the forces which we're meant only to protect them. And as the war came to a climax over the course of many hundreds, perhaps thousands of years the humans sought a way to defend themselves from these seemingly destructive forces.

And so it was, once the Werewolves had driven most of the daemonic forces from this world that they withdrew from its affairs to rest and rebuild their shattered people. However the memories of hulking Wolf like creatures taking their bothers from them, and screaming hosts of daemonic beats invading and destroying all that could be found were still held deep within the human conciseness. And now with some mastery of the magical forces around them the humans decided they must defend themselves, as they believed that no one else would.

And so they created the Slayer line, a line of warrior women tasked with defending this world and destroying all forces that threatened its human people. And the balance was shifted, and as such the powers needed to balance this world’s energy. And so the Werewolves were cast down, the people of this world had chosen a defender and it was no longer to be them.

It was then that the shape changers became feral; they no longer sought to defend this world they desired only to act upon their wild animal instincts. There ability to change shape at will and control their inner beast was weakened and many could no longer control it at all. And so the vast majority of these creatures became the savage feral beasts that are known today as Werewolves.

But a few of the of the werewolf kind managed to avoid this change. So few we’re powerful enough to evade the plague that took almost all of their kind, and the werewolf race was shattered and nearly destroyed.

So they the met, all those that survived the fall came together. And they convened, it was then they realized that the balance had shifted and no longer would those they infected become as they are, they would become a blasphemy unto them. But there were some humans, those descended from the first chosen, that should they be bitten by the few noble Werewolves that still existed would become as they are.

And their feral bothers, oblivious to this history of nobility and auspice continue to upon the full moon change and become the antithesis of their heritage.

This is the History of the werewolf as seen and to a degree recorded by the werewolves of the Urn'etu. Urn'etu werewolves believe themselves to be the remnants of the original werewolves. And as such they see themselves as superior to all the rest of were kind. For this reason they are more reclusive than every other type of werewolf and so even less is know about them.

What is known is that all chosen by them can change form at will, and are able maintain their humanity and intellect when in this bestial form. This is because they are very selective of whom they take into their number they attempt to select only those who they believe to be descended from the original werewolves. How they select these individuals is unknown to all those outside the breed. However no one outside the Urn'etu knows for sure if this is even true.

Another likely reason they seem to exhibit this ability likely has to do with the rigorous mental conditioning they all undergo upon being infected. This of course only makes it easier for them to control the beast within, but as with all werewolves it is still a long and arduous process, however most werewolves take much longer than the Urn'etu should they ever even attain this state at all. Another remarkable aspect of whatever condition they undergo is that they all have seem to have a strange control over all of their emotions and as such always appear very calm and relaxed even in the most stressful of situations.

This strict metal conditioning and intensive selection process also creates a very intense bond between the members of a pack. Unlike the average werewolf pack they do not allow members of other breeds to join their packs under any circumstance, not that werewolves of any other breed would wish to join anyway.

Urn'etu are also very proud creatures, they idealize a strict honor system of which little is know. This pride also makes them even more territorial and packs of Urn'etu often police there territory with military efficiency killing anything which enters.

The Urn'etu live somewhat longer than an average human though this is most likely due to there strange mastery of the beast within them. Are the rarest of all the werewolf breeds, perhaps 4-5 thousand exist at any given time. Other than their exceptional control over the beast within and there detached attitude they are of the some nature as the rest of were kind weather they believe it or not.
