descript: Elizabeth is a young watcher. She is only 26. She is about 5'9'' in height, but is extremely strong. She has short, straight, red hair, to her shoulders. Her eyes are a gentle blue. She is thin, but has curves in the neccesary places. She wears contacts, but can be found in her glasses at night.
history: When Elizabeth was eight years old, her home was attacked by a gang of vampires. Her entire family was slain by the gang, except her. She had heard the noise and hid in an upstairs closet. The rest of her family (her mother, father, two brothers and a sister) were all outside on the patio. The slayer came in and destroyed most of the vampires. Her watcher searched the house and found Elizabeth. He took her in and raised her as he would his own daughter. Eventually the slayer was killed, and the watcher retired from the council. He took on parenting as a full time thing. The same gang of vampires came up on him one night and sired him.
Growing up with a watcher, Elizabeth trained right next to the slayer. She possesed talent in fighting and showd great strenght. She was at one time thought to be a potential, but that was disproven later by a powerful witch. She began to go on hunts and slay vampires with the slayer. After the death of the slayer, she continued to train on her own. When her "father" (the watcher) came to her as a vampire, she staked him.
After that she swore to get revenge on the gang who did killed them. She covered the streets, laying waste to all who came in her way. Eventually she was called to the watcher's council, and never found the gang who took her family away from her twice.
items: She carries around a stake that the slayer, the one she considered family, had always used. She swears she will only stake the vampire gang with it. She also carries an assortment of other stakes, knives, and occasionally a crossbow.
powers: She can fight with great agility and strength. She is quick, and talented at martial arts. She fights much like a slayer. She can cast low-level spells. She is intelligent, if you see that as a power.

Here's what makes her Mary Sue in my eyes -
* Her entire family were killed by vampires - ok so lots of PC's that are active in game lost their families to vampire killings, it happens but we'd like to see people being a bit more original now.
* She was raised by the Watcher's Council and thought to be a 'Potential' - okay yeah we've seen elements of this before as with Alessa and Jessica.
* She used to train and patrol with The Slayer, not only that she has picked up the fighting habits of a Slayer.
* Her Watcher 'father' turned vamp and tried to kill her and she had to stake him - I don't know but parts of this just seem awfully familiar to me... *sees same black cat walk past* "hmmm deja vu..."
* Not only is she exceptionally strong, fights like the Slayer, is well versed in martial arts and is quick minded - she can also cast low-level spells making her a witch in training to boot.
I have just one thing left to say about this... :roll:

But once she got there she was bitten by a vampire. The vampire then manipulated her into finding and killing her boyfriend, after she had sucked the blood she realized that she had been tricked by the vampire and now seeks to find and kill him. She refuses to eat people because of the mistake she made.

descript: He stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing 135 pounds. He was born with brown hair, but as he grew older, he has a gray hair.
history: He was born in May 5th, 1890. He was born in an educated family. His father was a scientist, and his mother was a teacher. Just like his parents, he grew up educated.
During college, he majored in biochemistry to study the evolution of the world and the chemicals that have been unfound and exists.
After graduating from college with a PhD in hand, Jack was hired by Adolf Hitler, the Nazi leader, as one of Hitler's top scientists on January, 1925.
With Hitler's strong charismatic speech, he was unsure of Hitler's strategy, but Jack followed Hitler's plans. His reason was to survive from the Hitler's crimes.
On March of 1931, Hitler announced to his scientists to build a nuclear weapon for the victory of Germans. Scientists have endeavored, but failed. The project was classified.
After Hitler's suicide, Jack returned, holding a cup of water, to the lab to check the safety of the dangerous nuclear atoms of the weapon. Mysteriously, a drop of nuclear radiation drops into his cup. He drinks it. After he drank, he felt a strong muscle growing in him, morphing himself into a monster destroying almost everything in the lab.
When he became a human-self, he invents some sort of chemical liquid that might stop him from turning himself into a monster. He drinks the liquid, but he was unable to turn himself back into a human form. Instead, his monster side is within his human side. He became half human, half monster. He later finds out he was ageless.
After 50 years of loneliness to find the cure, he experiments another one of his liquids. This time, he could turn himself into a human, but only in daylight. During the night, depending on his emotions, he will either turn into a monster or a half breed.
After living a disasterous 110 years, he moves to United States of America in order to redeem himself for his wrong-doings and find the best cure he can find to live as a human being.

I put this here not becasue I don't like the character but becasue it does not fit the tone of the game. He lies more in the realm of science than the supernatural. LABN is really magical superheroes. The "sciencey" ones go to the other game.
For all intents and purposes this is The Hulk. A Scientist searching for the humanity within his monsterous existence.
I am going to post this over in Fantastic Legends for consideration.
On a minor note the dates are off by 10 years on your German Nazi History.

Personally I think this explanation is bull, I know for a fact that Andrew was given a truck load of support in writing for his character (including writing up another character) but obviously felt a need to ditch the game regardless.
I'm gonna say what I wrote in Fantastic Legends actually, I don't want to sound harsh, but I felt that Andrew's last contribution to LABN was pretty poor in that though his character Derek Park had all the potential of a worthy character (Dave made a couple of brilliant posts using Derek as a NPC that showed just what potential he had) Andrew just couldn't be bothered to actually explore him outside of a few disjointed initial posts (of which, in my opinion, were of a low quality.) I also know he had trouble writing in the format that is standard for our game.
Now all this aside, I would LOVED to be proved wrong. But I feel Fantastic Legends, just like LABN cannot support a player who can't write to a certain standard, or who has a limited ability in the use of prose English. (This is a game which is ALL about the writing after all.)
To prove me wrong, I'd ask Andrew (if he were to apply with another character) to submit an initial post for concideration as well. (As LOADS of other players have actually done, just look at Simryn's proposal to see how it's done). For me this would not only show any improvement in Andrew's writing technique, but also prove his comitiment to the game (which let's face it, apart from being fun IS a comitment, since there's nothing worse than getting involved with another character for their player to suddenly up and vanish when they get bored again.)
So there it is, I may be a hard ass or a bitch, but those are my criteria for accepting an application from this player. Sorry.
