Spelling aside...I actually liked this one until I got to "his stregnth is enourmas such of that of a sleyer he can take out 7 vampires with just a steke by himself. " And then my brain switched off. The rest of it I could almost buy with some judicious editing it could be pretty good. I liked the Aussie background and the wWatchers' council stuff too.

But Lyle Gorch is now a vampire with a soul? Huh?? Yeah, one or two things were just a bit TOO over the top. I felt a distinct air of Mary-Sue about this one, but I would be willing to read a fresh submission from this guy (though we might want to point him to a word processor with a spellchecker).

Atch, I was wondering on the REGISTRATION form, whether we could make an e-mail address mandatory? (You know like the form won't be processed unless there's a valid email address?)
It's just something that irks me that we have people who register with the board and we don't have any way of getting in contact with them outside the forums - or even knowing if they've already submitted a character even.
I don't even know if we could do that, or if it would stop people registering and then never coming back again but it was just a thought.

I've also been wondering about the people who register and then never so much as say a word. I can't understand why someone would go to the trouble of registering in order to make posts, and then not make them. :? Still, I guess the kind of people who would do that are also the kind of people who would ignore welcoming e-mails if we sent them. I'm not sure making an e-mail address compulsory would make much difference, though I guess we could try it.
I can take the blame for one of our non-posting registrants, however. A friend of mine registered as leluka in order to access something I'd sent her the link to (it was in our Members' Lounge as it turned out). I doubt she'll ever make a post, even though she's a mad keen Buffy fan (some of you met her in Aust). :)
Anyway, I've added some bits to the application page instructions that will hopefully cut down on the Mary-Sues. Ooh, look, a pig just flew past my window...

Ah, I was wondering because when I look up new member details it never displays an e-mail address (or much else to be honest except a user name). But then I guess you can choose not to have your e-mail displayed from the profile settings anyway.
